In the following section you will find a Variety of Comments supporting the Green Ride Colorado application for Authority to operate a "Call and Demand" and a "Scheduled" service between Northern Colorado and Denver International Airport:

According to census data and the information available in a Colorado Public Utilities 2008 report titled "The Taxi Industry In the Denver Metropolitan Area", there is more than 1 taxicab for each 1000 people in the Denver metropolitan area.  In contrast, the Northern Colorado area has approximately one taxicab for each 13,000 residents.

This disproportionate level of service is bad for the public and bad for Northern Colorado Business.  It is particularly challenging for residents and visitors to the Northern Colorado region to find dependable and convenient taxi service.  I fully support the need and application for a second taxicab service.

As a patron of the current taxi service, I would like to have more options when booking a taxi as the current service is not reliable.  Time quotes are not accurate and I have often waited more than 30 minutes and occasionally more than an hour before the taxi arrived.

I regularly use the taxi service currently available, however it is frequently inconvenient, difficult to contact, and does not provide a dependable service.  I strongly encourage the Public Utilities Commission to approve the application for Taxi service by Green Ride Colorado.  A second Taxi company will serve the public interest by making service more readily available and increasing the chances of getting a cab when you need one.
